Helena

The people and businesses rooted in our town.

Homegrown Helena is a community publication dedicated to telling the real stories behind the businesses that make our town work. The owners, the trades, the people who show up every day. No rankings. No pay-to-play. Just honest profiles of the people building something here.

What This Is

Editorial. Free. No strings attached.

This is a free editorial platform. We profile local owner-operators — trades, services, shops, the people Helena depends on. Each profile tells their story: who they are, why they do what they do, and what makes them worth knowing.

We reach out to businesses we find interesting. We sit down and talk. We write it up and publish it. That's the whole thing.

No fees

This is not a paid directory. We never charge businesses to be featured.

No rankings

We don't rate or compare. Every profile stands on its own.

No gimmicks

No sponsored content, no banner ads, no pay-to-play. Just real stories.

About

Allen Le Vie

Founder

I retired from the US Air Force in 2020 and have been serving Helena-area businesses as an operations consultant since. I believe the best businesses in town deserve to have their stories told.

This project grew out of a simple observation: the businesses that work the hardest often have the weakest voice online. The plumber who's been at it for thirty years. The shop owner who knows every customer by name. The contractor who does work that speaks for itself but never learned to shout about it.

Homegrown Helena exists to change that. One honest profile at a time.
